Hosts Hot Spots: The Netherlands
The Netherlands, with its famous capital Amsterdam, offers fantastic possibilities for corporate travelers. Amsterdam’s UNESCO protected canals, world famous museums, Heineken Experience, floating flower markets, and many other sights offers a fantastic backdrop for incentive trips and meetings alike.
Besides charming Amsterdam, guests should consider venturing out to modern Rotterdam, cultural hotspot Utrecht, royal city The Hague, or shopping mecca Maastricht. Then there are the smaller cities that are extremely rich in history, and have lots to see and do, such as canal towns like Haarlem and Leiden, and authentic places such as Edam, Delft and Gouda.
For nature lovers there is an impressive coastline. Up north you will find the beautiful Wadden Islands. There is also an abundance of greenery – from gorgeous flower fields to stunning nature reserves like the Veluwe.
In short The Netherlands has all of the ingredients for a great travel experience: a rich history, beautiful sights to see, plenty of things to do, great food, warm hospitality, and ease of getting around. We hope to welcome you to The Netherlands soon!

If you were visiting and had only 24 hours to spend in The Netherlands, what would you do?
Using Amsterdam as your base location, I would spend the morning here just wandering around the city. Be sure to include a cruise on our UNESCO protected ring of canals. In the afternoon, I would hop on a train and visit at least one other Dutch city. Depending on your preference there is something for everyone: history, design, nature, shopping…there is too much to choose from. Therefore 24hrs would never be enough!
What is one thing that most people do not know about The Netherlands?
In general people know The Netherlands is a small country, but they often do not realize how small. When visiting The Netherlands, people tend to stick to Amsterdam, which is absolutely one of the greatest cities in the world. But even though we are small, there is so much more to see in The Netherlands. Our roads and public transportation system are well developed and will take you anywhere you want to in The Netherlands within a time ratio of 2.5hrs max!
What is your favorite local dish? And what restaurant makes it the best?
Pancakes! While many countries have pancakes on their breakfast menu, the Dutch eat pancakes for dinner. Sweet or savory, each pancake house will have an extensive menu of mouthwatering pancakes to choose from. Pancake houses usually have a more traditional, homely atmosphere, giving you that nostalgic feeling of having a home cooked meal from grandma.
