What a week! As always, IMEX America week was a busy one for Hosts Global Alliance.

With so many of our worldwide members in one location, we started the week in traditional fashion at our Members Meeting, which took place at the Mirage on Monday, October 12th. After a delicious breakfast, HGA kicked off the meeting with speaker, Tim David.  Tim talked with members about the human connection and how it relates to business – a topic he would also discuss later in the week as an MPI Keynote speaker for IMEX. It was a great way to start the day and set the tone for the rest of the meeting!

On Monday night HGA also hosted a night out for our IMEX America hosted buyers consisting of amazing comfort food in a private room at YardBird followed by an entertaining evening at the Rock of Ages show with some of our exhibiting booth DMC members. The group had a special VIP treat after the show, thanks to our friends at BASE Entertainment, and got to meet a few of the Rock of Ages cast, needless to say the night ROCKED.

The Fifth annual IMEX America Show floor opened on Tuesday, October 13 at the Sands Expo® in Las Vegas and this year by far was the biggest show to date. Strong demand from across the industry meant that the exhibition was larger in size, scope and number. IMEX hosted more business appointments than ever and provided a vast array of diverse networking and educational opportunities for the industry. This was apparent at the HGA Booth as well.  With diaries for 18 exhibiting booth DMC members and 4 vice presidents of sales, the booth was very busy with over 325 appointments over the three days of the show. In addition to the individual group appointments, HGA had presentations for 8 hosted buyer groups, equating to 119 individuals, which was the most we have ever had. The Hosts booth also welcomed 3 sold out group presentations where 48 show attendees registered to come learn about Hosts Global Alliance in a group appointment format.

SOLD OUT was a common word this year for HGA, as our exclusive VIP customer event was also in a sold out situation. This annual event held at TAO Asian Bistro and Nightclub was another success story of the week. Guests lit the way with credentials provided by Totally MOD illuminating TAO’s Opium Room and Monk Bar. With DJ Dig Dug providing the ambiance for an electric evening, guests dined on exquisite Asian cuisine and toasted to a great start to IMEX America all while Specialty Imaging captured the moments of the evening with photographic flare and style.

Bright and early Wednesday morning, I had the pleasure of taking part in the IMEXrun on the Las Vegas strip. This was the first time the IMEXrun was a part of IMEX America in Las Vegas. Closing down a part of the iconic Las Vegas Boulevard strip, and joining with IMEX staff, exhibitors, and hosted buyers alike, the run was an energizing start to the day.

Throughout the week, the H Factor was abundant and apparent – not only as a visual statement at our booth but through out the actions of our DMC members and staff, which is something that we at HGA could not be more proud of.
