Travel Advisory: South Africa drops yellow fever requirement for Zambia
Sandown Tours & Incentives, a Host Global Alliance Member is happy to share the following travel advisory news regarding South Africa.
The South African Department of Health has announced that yellow fever vaccinations are no longer required for travel between Zambia and South Africa.
The requirement was lifted on Saturday, February 1st, with immediate effect. The decision was made at the World Health Assembly in Geneva. The decision by the America’s Health Department comes after the World Health Organization confirmed that Zambia had been given a low yellow fever potential exposure status, which means travelers are not required to carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
The requirement was bemoaned by the tourism industry, which suggested that it was putting travelers off the destination, especially because they could visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe without having a vaccination. As always, Sandown Tours is happy and ready to help exceed your program needs. Please contact your HGA Liaison with any inquiries for them.
