Giving Back to Our Communities and Sustainability Efforts

The Australia Pacific Team form strategic partnerships which carefully align to the social and environmental values of the stakeholders we work with in every destination. We actively engage our sustainability principles, consciously ensuring sustainable practices across all facets of event production. Some examples of the charitable and sustainability initiatives we have delivered include:

Hosts Global | Discover Australia | OzHarvest food rescue

Oz Harvest – Less Waste Empowering Communities

OzHarvest is on a mission to fight food waste and empower vulnerable communities. OzHarvest collect good quality surplus food from a network of donors and deliver it direct and free of charge to charities nationally. Realm Australia Pacific love collaborating with partners who share our passion to minimise waste and support people and planet. OzHarvest is one of those organisations.

Bardee – Circular Economy Innovation

Bardee is Australia’s largest insect breeding facility that uses black soldier flies to convert food waste into organic fertiliser and animal protein. They currently process up to 10 tonnes of food waste every day at their Moonbase site. Realm Australia Pacific are establishing a strategic partnership with Bardee so that there is always a circular economic lens on every Realm Australia event and no food goes to waste.

Care Australia – Over AU$1M Raised

Realm Australia supported Care Australia for their 21st birthday celebration gala, raising over AU$1m in donations as part of the event. Designing the production and staging as well as a key focus on the fundraising aims via raffles, auctions and strategic partnerships, the alignment of for purpose charitable work and commercial partners supporting the good cause, connected by Realm, created an outstanding success for all.

Hosts Global | Discover Australia | The Greenhouse by Joost

The Greenhouse by Joost – Environmental and Social Innovation

Realm Australia worked with sustainability innovators Joost Bakker, Matt Stone and Jo Barrett at pop-up restaurant, The Greenhouse in Melbourne’s central business district. Inspired by nature – The Greenhouse wasted nothing. Organic waste fed into a biodigester where it ferments and is turned into gas for cooking or fertilizer for produce; rainwater is harvested and used for irrigation and an aquaponics system, where plants grow using waste from on-site fish; and hot steam from the shower enables a wall of mushrooms to thrive. The project was turned into a film so others could be inspired by the innovative approach. Find out more on the > innovative environmental initiative here

Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre – Supporting the Kuku Yalanji Group

One of the world’s most beautiful locations, the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre is an enticing destination to introduce visitors to both the stunning natural beauty of the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest living rainforest on earth, and the rich culture of the native Kuku Yalanji people. Realm Australia was instrumental in supporting the Kuku Yalanji people to develop the centre via establishing corporate partnerships to fund the creation of this culturally significant centre. This Indigenous ecotourism development was created to provide a more engaging, immersive experience for visitors to the Mossman Gorge World Heritage site. Acknowledged as one of Australia’s most iconic Aboriginal experiences in Australia, this Centre is the perfect solution for those seeking a genuine, authentic engagement with Indigenous Australia.

Every event managed by Realm Australia Pacific in Australia is designed with respect for our traditional first nation custodians. We consult with traditional peoples as part of every event and ensure a ‘Welcome to Country’ or Acknowledgement of Country introduction in all public settings is provided to respect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the local area. In the spirit of reconciliation Realm Australia Pacific always acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
