Condor Travel Named Finalist in the 2026 ICRT LATA Responsible Tourism Awards
Misminay Community-Based Tourism Initiative recognized for advancing sustainable tourism and cultural preservation in Peru
Hosts Global proudly celebrates Condor Travel, A Hosts Global Member, for being named a finalist in the prestigious 2026 ICRT LATA Responsible Tourism Awards for its Misminay Community-Based Tourism Initiative in Peru. The recognition honors Condor Travel’s longstanding commitment to responsible tourism, cultural preservation, and meaningful community impact across Latin America.
Presented in partnership with the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT) and the Latin American Travel Association (LATA), the awards spotlight organizations driving positive change through tourism. This year’s shortlist featured finalists from across Latin America spanning categories including climate adaptation, cultural diversity, regenerative tourism, and local economic impact. Winners will be announced during the LATA Expo in the United Kingdom on June 8, 2026.
Located in Peru’s Sacred Valley, the Misminay Community-Based Tourism Initiative has been developed in partnership with the local Andean community since 2008. The initiative supports sustainable economic opportunities while preserving cultural traditions including weaving, gastronomy, farming, and communal living practices. In 2025 alone, the program welcomed more than 15,000 visitors while continuing to strengthen local livelihoods and cultural continuity for future generations.

Most recently, the initiative expanded to include new family-oriented cultural experiences designed in collaboration with the community, allowing younger generations to actively participate in preserving and sharing traditional practices through hands-on engagement.
