Celebrating Irish Tourism Excellence John Healy Receives 2025 Tourism Industry Special Recognition Award, Hosts Global

DUBLIN, IRELAND (October 14, 2025) – Hosts Global is proud to celebrate a monumental moment in Irish tourism as John Healy, Managing Director of Moloney & Kelly, A Hosts Global Member, has been honored with the 2025 Tourism Industry Special Recognition Award—a prestigious accolade named in memory of Eileen O’Mara Walsh, founder of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC).

This award recognizes an individual whose extraordinary leadership and lasting contributions have shaped the Irish tourism landscape. Past recipients include titans of the industry such as IAG’s Willie Walsh, Paul Carty of the Guinness Storehouse, and Ruth Andrews, Chair of Fáilte Ireland. This year, John Healy joins that distinguished list with a legacy that is every bit as legendary.

A passionate champion for Ireland as a premier global destination, John has spent decades driving tourism excellence through vision, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to showcasing the authentic spirit of the Emerald Isle.

“I am deeply honoured to receive this award and grateful for the recognition it represents,” said John Healy. “This achievement is not mine alone—it reflects the support, collaboration, and inspiration I’ve received from colleagues and mentors over the years.”

The ITIC Board’s unanimous decision to select John was echoed across the tourism industry. From his colleagues at Moloney & Kelly, to long-time partners at Abbey Group, John’s influence is undeniable. As Vanessa Castles, MD of Abbey – The Destination Experts, succinctly described him: “Legendary.”

“John has been a stalwart of Irish tourism,” said Robert Lee, VP of Global Sales & Alliance Engagement at Hosts Global. “His work has elevated not only Ireland as a destination but also the standards of our global industry. His authenticity, generosity, and vision are unmatched.”

“We are immensely proud to celebrate John’s lifetime achievement,” added Kurt Paben, CEO of Hosts Global. “At Hosts Global, we believe in the power of people to shape extraordinary experiences—and John Healy embodies that belief. His work has left a lasting imprint on Ireland’s global tourism success and on every planner and partner he’s collaborated with.”

The award presentation caps off a week of celebration and momentum for Hosts Global during IMEX America 2025, with the company recently launching Hosts Hawaii and celebrating its recognition as the United States’ Leading Destination Management Company by the World Travel Awards 2025.

At the heart of these accolades are the people behind the programs. And in Irish tourism, few have made as indelible an impact as John Healy.
