Hosts Global Destination Spotlight: Paris

Bonjour! Today’s Destination Spotlight features the timeless, enchanting, Paris- and Hosts Global Member, local experts, Lafayette Group.

Step into a world where style and charm intertwine, where history whispers through cobblestone streets, and where each corner holds a new chapter of enchantment. Welcome to Paris, a city that wears its elegance like a fragrant perfume and invites you to embrace its timeless allure.

Paris is a city where history, art, and culture converge to create a breathtaking tableau, a treasure trove of museums and landmarks that tell stories of creativity, resilience, and passion. Embark on a journey through time as you explore iconic sites like the Louvre, Château de Versailles, the Luxembourg Gardens, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, and perhaps the most iconic of all… La Tour Eiffel.

Darling, let’s not beat around the bush – the Eiffel Tower is your gateway to elevated elegance and grandeur in Paris. An iron lily amidst the city’s blooms. It reaches skyward, touching clouds that carry whispered secrets. The Eiffel Tower stands as a sentinel, guarding the dreams of those who wander beneath its gaze. And as the sun kisses the horizon with the Eiffel Tower illuminated against the night sky, you’ll feel the heartbeats of countless dreamers who’ve stood before you.

Paris isn’t just a destination; it’s a symphony for your taste buds. Dine at Michelin-starred temples of culinary mastery like Le Meurice Alain Ducasse and embark on a gastronomic voyage that dances between flavors and textures, leaving you breathless after each bite. Or revel in the French cafe scene that exhibits the art of sitting back and sipping life in! Parisians have perfected it, and now it’s your turn. Sidle up to a cozy café, order an espresso or a glass of wine, and watch the world go by. The chatter of locals, the aroma of freshly baked croissants, and the laissez-faire attitude – this is Parisian therapy at its finest.

INTERCONTINENTAL PARIS – LE GRAND

Located in the heart of the capital, opposite the Opera Garnier and a stone’s throw from the Place Vendôme, the Intercontinental Le Grand Hôtel could only have “Grands Magasins” as neighbors.

FLUCTUART

The Fluctuart project is a response to the call for projects «Réinventer la Seine». For Gérard Ronzatti, president of Seine Design and architect of the building, this reinvention requires the proposal of a new relationship with art, more intuitive and immersive.

The Seine, as an open space dedicated to all, is an opportunity to rethink this link. By proposing architectural references specific to the river, Fluctuart overturns the codes of museums and art centers. The building results from the superimposition of three different places each carrying a spatial experience that belongs only to the river.

Creative, committed, flexible and innovative, Fluctuart is the first urban art centre in the heart of Paris, at the foot of the Pont des Invalides, left bank. Fluctuart offers you different solutions to host all your events: product launch, cocktails, seminars, dinners or private evenings in an exceptional setting inhabited by the greatest international urban artists.

VOYAGE SAMARITAINE

The Samaritaine Pont-Neuf is one of the most beautiful, entirely restored and newly reopened department store. To revive this magical and iconic place, they have imagined « Voyage » for you: a concept mixing arts and pleasures, designed to reconnect with the original effervescence of the place and located under the majestic glass roof and surrounded by the mythical peacock fresco.

Every day, guests are welcomed in the restaurant to enjoy a modern and international menu, with elegant and refined flavors. Led in collaboration by Mathieu Viannay (2 stars in the Michelin guide and Meilleur Ouvrier de France) and Jimmy Elisabeth (Executive Chef), their team is busy every day embarking you on a gastronomic journey.

Every evening, their spaces, designed by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, are transformed and come to life to welcome your event. Three distinct spaces or the entire floor, anything is possible in this place new to Parisians, yet existing since 1870.

PARIS EXPO PORTE DE VERSAILLES

DUCASSE SUR SEINE

It is an unprecedented Seine River cruise experience on the first 100% electric boat in Paris. An achievement that combines innovation and hospitality “à la française”. The boat offers unique lunch and dinner cruises on the Seine River.

Innovations include on-board restaurant service as all the food is prepared on the boat, according to the seasons, just like in a restaurant.

Ducasse sur Seine is docked on the right bank, near the Jardins du Trocadéro and the Champs de Mars, at the Debilly port in the 16th district in Paris. During the cruises, guests can fully appreciate the extraordinary view on the river, the bridges, and the animated banks, listed as one of the sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Much more than a river boat ride, this is an experience in perfect osmosis with the city offered to everyone who loves Paris.

THE GRAND PALAIS ÉPHÉMÈRE

The Grand Palais Éphémère is a temporary 107,000+ sqft building designed by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and constructed on the Champ-de-Mars. It is overseen by the Réunion des musées nationaux –Grand Palais and Paris 2024, and produced by GL Events.

The building is a real architectural feat. Its curved, double-vault structure gives it a layout on the scale of the Champ-de-Mars, fitting into the prestigious site perfectly, the history of which is highly connected to the world’s fairs which took place on the esplanade from 1867.

A post-pandemic architecture marked by its vast spaces and generous openings, the Grand Palais Éphémère has a main nave with an uninterrupted span of 167 ft in breadth and 108 ft in depth, completely free of any posts or structural elements interrupting the space. The 44 monumental arches of the Grand Palais Éphémère were assembled on site over three months. This wooden framework, as well as the environmentally friendly and acoustic properties of the Grand Palais Éphémère make it a building with a remarkable structure, firmly set in our time, which is part of the new typology of interdisciplinary buildings built in recent years: The Shed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in New York, The Factory in Manchester City by Rem Koolhaas and OMA, and the Museum of the 20th Century by Herzog & DeMeuron in Berlin.
