Hosts Global Increases Members Standards, Drives Brand Promise for Best in Class Destination Management Services Worldwide


Hosts Global (Hosts), announced the rollout of their member-driven increase in standards for Destination Management Companies (DMCs) within Hosts’ global alliance. The additional standards push Hosts’ already thorough qualifications up a level, an intentional move to showcase the significant quality of membership and to ensure consistent delivery of best in class destination management services worldwide.

“Hosts has vetted the top DMCs around the globe and partnered with the best to ensure unrivaled local knowledge and quality service for our customers”, said Marty MacKay, DMCP, president of Hosts Global Alliance. “We are constantly upping our game to ensure our alliance is driving industry norms. This member-driven increase in standards is a true sign of a successful community – we’re all proud of the level of excellence we provide together.”

Hosts standards for global membership now also include:

  • Service Requirement – The DMC member must have a tailored Emergency Preparedness Plan for each Hosts destination, pledge to review the plan with clients prior to events and provide a copy of their plan to Hosts Global for record annually.
  • Education Requirement – The DMC member must have one or more staff that indicate their continuing education through professional certification (i.e. DMCP, CITE, CIS, CMP, CMM, CSEP) and become members of ADMEI by the end of 2018.
  • Business Requirement – 70% of the DMC member’s average annual revenue must come directly from destination management services for events produced in their Hosts destination

In addition to these increased standards, Hosts Global has also developed an Ethics Board to preserve the trust and accountability of membership. MacKay noted, “The anonymity of our ethics board will ensure transparency of our actions and an additional layer, beyond standards, for ethical business practices from our global alliance.”
