Color. Color everywhere. Ever imagine what our world would look like without the colors of the rainbow? Don’t- because it’s not pretty. Colors can brighten a room, darken a room, brighten a mood, change a mood, trigger a memory, create a memory, motivate, enchant, move, activate your senses through touch, taste, smell and so much more. Take a minute to think of the significance that color has in your life, your home, your event, go ahead we’ll wait.
The rainbow, with its magnificent display of colors, has captivated humanity since time immemorial. Whether it arcs gracefully across the sky after a rain shower or is created by sunlight passing through a waterfall’s mist, this awe-inspiring phenomenon never fails to evoke a sense of wonder and ageless joy. In this Design Edition, we embark on a journey to explore the colors of the rainbow, all through event design. And let’s not forget what this colorful month also represents- Pride Month is a time when the LGBTQ+ community and its allies come together to honor diversity, equality, and the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ rights. One of the most recognizable symbols associated with Pride is the rainbow flag, a vibrant display of colors that represents unity, pride, and the multifaceted identities within the community.

Are you ready to dive headfirst into a world of vibrant colors, throughout all pieces of event design? Our Hosts Global Member, Compass Tours Incoming in Germany, set this ball rolling with all the colors represented in their entertainment at the Berlin Pride Parade. De Palms Tours in Aruba brought some fiery red decor & bright blue-hued decor for a Carnivàle themed event- that would not be complete without a colorful drink! Hosts Global Member in Miami, COTC Events, made color blocking look effortless in their orange tablescape. Hosts Global Member Imagine Events, in Arizona prove it IS easy being green with this mystical set up. Portugal Travel Team made their events moody with some deep indigo and violet lighting setting the tone for their event.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

So, what is ROYGBIV? ROYGBIV is actually a mnemonic that helps you remember the order of the colors of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet – plus, it’s fun to say. When we envision a rainbow, we often think of the seven distinct colors that compose it. Ready to inject a burst of cheeky and bold energy into your next event? These playful hues are like a box of crayons waiting to set your event decor on fire. So, fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a whimsical journey through the delightful and fun-filled world of rainbow-inspired event decor.

Our Hosts Global Member Portugal Travel Team made their table settings vibrant and made them really pop with clear tables and chairs. Imagine Events in Arizona delighted with their rainbow-attired entertainment. De Palm Tours in Aruba took the rainbow spectrum seriously in their brightly colored florals, tables, and entertainment. Hosts Washington D.C. lit up the room top to bottom with colorful hues that matched the event theme. Hosts Global Member Experience Holy City in South Carolina made sunny arrangements of varying colors that brighten up their tables. Group Services Inc in Puerto Rico used various color lights and candles to set the ambiance for the night. Hosts Global Member in The Bahamas, Cacique Events, is an explosion of warmth, vibrancy, and color, best expressed through Junkanoo, their national parade with deep historical roots celebrating Bahamian freedom, independence and uniqueness. Hosts Chicago also had colorful entertainment- they were painted as butterflies! Barefoot Holidays in St. Lucia had beautiful, colorful wildflower centerpieces that added whimsey to the table.

Paint the Town RED…

The color red, located on the outer edge of the rainbow, symbolizes energy, passion, and strength. It is a vibrant color that catches the eye and is often associated with intense emotions. When it comes to event decor, red is the color of excitement. Splash this fiery shade across your venue with bold tablecloths, vibrant centerpieces, and sassy entertainment. It’s the perfect color to ignite the flame and get everyone in a lively rouge mood!

Hosts Global Member, Colours of Malta, celebrate their heritage through color, music, folklore, and traditions at their Maltese Festival and made a dazzling event in the Knights of Malta Infirmary. Hosts Global Member Roberts Event Group in Philadelphia had a beautiful red floral centerpiece the Queen of Hearts herself would envy. Barefoot Holidays in St. Lucia, De Palm Tours in Aruba, and Cacique International in The Bahamas brightened their events with red tablescapes that really popped against the natural backdrop. Hosts Washington DC went red on red with their decor and matching-hued entertainment. Eshet Incentives in Israel had a group feeling the love- for their matching red shirts while taking in their beautiful surroundings. Juice Studios in Atlanta and Hosts Las Vegas gave new meaning to the “Lady in Red” with their stunning and bold entrainment. Hosts Global Member, Spectra UK, lit up their event- and the venue’s stunning architecture, really highlighting the space while adding drama.

Orange-ya Glad we Used This Color…

Moving inward, we encounter the color orange. It radiates warmth, enthusiasm, and creativity. Orange combines the energy of red with the cheerfulness of yellow, representing a harmonious balance between these two colors. In one word… Happy! Prepare for a juicy burst of citrusy zest with orange. This bright and bubbly hue brings a refreshing and playful vibe to your event decor. Consider incorporating orange-hued accents through creative signage, funky napkins, or even a tangy, orange-themed cocktail bar. Get ready to embrace the zestful and side of your event.

Hosts Global Members Hosts Texas simplified color blocking with table linens, while De Palm Tours went more extravagant with their vibrant entertainment. Imagine Events carried through the orange in linens, decor, and lighting at their bright event. Hosts Global Member Juice Studios brightened the room with orange light up table bases. Hosts New Orleans served a poppy orange punch in cocktail form. Hosts Global Member, Fourth Dimension Italy, filled their table with different shades of orange flowers. And Eshet Incentives shared a special destination all aglow in Israel.

Unleash the Sun

Yellow, the color of sunshine, evokes feelings of happiness, optimism, and enlightenment. It is a bright and cheerful hue that represents joy and vitality. Embrace the sunny side of life by sprinkling yellow touches throughout your decor. From yellow roses and daisy-filled centerpieces to whimsical lemon-themed decorations, the possibilities are endless. Your guests will bask in the effervescent glow of your event!

Hosts Global Members Portugal Travel Team, Roberts Event Group, and COTC Events set some sunny yellow details through beautiful, fragrant centerpieces. A treat for the eyes and nose! Hosts New Orleans sets up a happy-hued bike and umbrella decor- who wouldn’t be smiling while posing here? It was head-to-toe yellow monochromatic yellow entertainment for Spaintacular. Did we mention he was on stilts? And they called this seating Mellow Yellow…. bright and airy tables and couch were the focal points of Hosts Global Member’s COTC Events, Juice Studios, and E2 Destination & Event Management’s events.

Nature’s Playground

Green, the color of nature and life, occupies a central position in the rainbow. It symbolizes growth, renewal, and harmony. Green is known for its calming effect and is associated with balance and tranquility. Transport your guests to an enchanting wonderland with lush greenery and foliage-inspired decor. Hosts Global Member Moloney & Kelly from Ireland is pretty much the expert on the color green. From tablescapes to green background walls to uplighting, they know how to make their event pop! De Palm Tours draws inspiration from the island and coconuts with their event decor and drinks. Hosts Global Members Juice Studios, Cacique International, Delta Amsterdam, and Portugal Travel Team set the serene scene with their green table decor. A treat for the eyes and the lips! Hosts Texas sets up an interactive wine wall!

Sea of Blues

As we move further along the spectrum, we take a dive into a sea of relaxation and tranquility with blue-themed event decor. Blue can elicit a sense of calmness and serenity, making it perfect for creating a soothing atmosphere. It represents the vastness of the sky and the ocean, evoking a sense of expansiveness and calm. So, whether it’s dreamy blue lighting, ocean-inspired table settings, or whimsical cloud decorations, let the tranquil blues sweep your guests away.

Hosts Global Member Delta Amsterdam had a hauntingly beautiful display of talent cloaked in blue light at their event. Juice Studios went all in on the blue theme- even hosted the event at the Aquarium having their guests feel like they were in the actual ocean. Hosts Global Members Cacique International, Group Services Inc, and Portfire Events also echoed the tones of the ocean and set the tranquil scene with their blue tables and decor. And Roberts Event Group had mesmerizing talent all aglow in this favorite shade.

Mystical. Magical. Regal.

As we come to the end of this spectrum journey, we land on Indigo and end with Violet. Indigo, the mysterious shade nestled between blue and violet, adds an air of intrigue to your event decor. Go bold with indigo-colored drapes, florals. velvet seating, or even a starry night backdrop. Let your guests immerse themselves in the captivating and mystical atmosphere, where chic meets enchantment.

End your colorful journey with a regal touch of violet. Embrace the majestic side of event decor from rich purple accents to softer lighter purple and pinks hues. From immersive lighting to create ambiance to ornate floral arrangements, infuse your space with a sense of luxury and grandeur. Let your guests feel like royalty as they revel in the whimsical elegance of your event.

Hosts Global Member Portfire Events in Maine played the indigo card and found just the right hue that blurs the line of Indigo, Blue, and purple. Spaintacular brings the drama with a venue that was made for uplighting and dropping jaws. I mean, it has a ship! COTC Events went regal with their tablescape. Hosts Global Members, Hosts Las Vegas, Delta Amsterdam, and Hosts DC matched their entertainment to their color scheme. Spectra UK, Hosts Washington D.C., and Hosts Seattle added elegance, drama, and set the tone with their lighting that completely transformed their event spaces. Juice Studios tickled their guests pink with a delightful and delicious cocktail. And Cacique International went simple and elegant with a light violet hued orchid centerpiece, while Amazing Morocco went for classic centerpiece styles with hydrangeas and pink roses.

As we close out Pride month, we celebrate the rainbow flag’s vibrant colors that serve as a visual reminder of the diversity, strength, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. These colors are proudly displayed to create a sense of unity, foster inclusivity, and celebrate the rich tapestry of identities within the LGBTQ+ community. As we embrace the colors of the rainbow, let us remember the significance they hold, not only during Pride Month but throughout the year.
