HGA Participates in the 2014 FICP Education Forum in New Orleans, LA

The Financial and Insurance Conference Planners (FICP) Association recently held their 2014 FICP Education Forum in New Orleans, LA at The Ritz-Carlton. Hosts Global Alliance was proud to participate as a Gold Sponsor, joining over 70 financial services and insurance meeting planners and 125 hospitality partners for educational sessions, keynote presentation and networking opportunities.

FICP delivered on their conference theme, “Think it up. Live it up. Jazz it up.” Interactive events throughout the week kept session goers energized and engrossed while New Orleans’ local flair was highlighted with FICP’s own Mardi Gras parade, lively Cajun Zydeco music (visit FICP’s Flickr page for a preview of the impressive dance moves!), and a traditional second line. Attending on behalf of Hosts Global Alliance, Karen Christensen, CMP, Dee Kirby, and Terry Epton, CIS, CITE, DMCP, had the opportunity to attend several of the educational sessions and networking events. According to Hosts New Orleans President, Terry Epton, “Dr. Neelum Aggarwal’s Brain Fitness session seemed to have had a big impact on those who attended. It was highly talked about and I have already witnessed changing behavior. I see lots of color on those breakfast plates!” Dr. Aggarwal’s education session focused on the connection between diet, physical exercise and stress and the impact on brain fitness. Additional sessions and events highlighting meeting trends and technology solutions kept attendees busy. Karen Christensen collaborated on a FICP song during the Thursday evening General Session with Song Division, a first-of-its-kind global team building company working to enhance creative thinking and employee performance through song writing sessions.

New Orleans residents and political strategists Mary Matalin and James Carville delivered the opening keynote with an entertaining perspective of current political issues while Lt. General Russel L. Honoré closed out the week with his view of the “Culture of Preparedness”, a way to protect our most precious natural resources, the next generation of leaders.

Hosts Global Alliance will once again sponsor the upcoming 2014 FICP Summer Symposium, August 21-23 at the Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto, Ontario and the FICP Annual Conference, November 16-19, in Hawai’i. We hope to see you there!
